Our mental health and emotional health services

Counselling service

Counsellors are trained to provide safe, confidential talking therapies to help people cope better with their life and mental health condition.

A course of counselling can last between 5 to 10 weekly sessions, each session lasts between 30 to 60 minutes. Sessions are virtual or face to face.

Our counselling service operates on a donation basis; some clients pay a minimum donation of £5 per session; however, we understand that financial hardship can be a barrier to seeking help, so we aim to help people access our one-to-one counselling service, regardless of their financial situation.

If you'd like to find out more information or about our appointment offer, please complete our enquiry form on our website Contact us page or email contact@thecounsellinghubcharity.com.

We accept self referral and agency referral.

Drop-in groups

Our drop-in groups are accessible community spaces for people experiencing mental and emotional health challenges.

Led by a qualified mental health professional, they're welcoming spaces with lived experience peers and volunteer support.

Our drop-in groups are about support, learning, and empowerment. We cover a range of topics such as anger management, coping with anxiety, and self-care, supporting people with the knowledge and tools to manage life better.

Flintshire group details: every Wednesday, 1 pm to 3 pm, Buckley,  Flintshire.

Please complete our enquiry form on our website Contact us page or email: contact@thecounsellinghubcharity.com to book a place.

Mediation service

We provide family mediation support.  We help families through separation and relationship conflicts.

Family mediation is quicker, cheaper and less stressful than going to court to reach agreements.

We support families to manage agreements such as children access rights or property.  Our mediators are up to date in their practice and regular support and supervision.

Our mediation service operates on a donation basis; some clients pay a minimum donation of £10 per session; however, we understand that financial hardship can be a barrier to seeking help, so we aim to help people access our mediation service, regardless of  financial situation.

Caring for someone

with mental health

Supporting a person with depression, anxiety, self-harm or suicidal feelings can make a difference to them.

It could be a family member, friend or work colleague, there's many ways to suppport somebody you care about.

Support might be talking to someone who's struggling with their mental health, helping them to get professional support or giving them practical support.

Sometimes it can be hard to know what is the 'right' thing to do.  Supporting someone to see a health  professional can be hard, it's important to encourage them and keep the chats going.

We offer carers counselling appointments.  If you'd like to find out more or about our appointment offer please complete our enquiry form on our website Contact us page or email contact@thecounsellinghubcharity.com

Social connection

People can also drop into our Number 9 Wrexham Street hub shop for social connection and support.

Loneliness is a growing issue and we understand how important it is for people not to feel alone. A friendly smile and chat can make all the difference.

Addiction recovery

We provide early intervention, social engagement, recovery support and peer support.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction related harms or homelessness related to drug and alcohol addiction, don’t hesitate to reach out for help.

Sign-posting

We work with different organisations to ensure people can find the right place to get the help they need in their life.  We are a confidential service and seek to gain client consent prior to sign-posting.

Testimonial

The mediation support I received from the Counselling Hub was life-changing. My relationship with my partner had broken down. I was homeless. I had no safe space to take my children to when I had access. The Hub helped me agree with my ex-partner's access visits and helped me get myself back together. Today, I'm settling into a new flat they've helped to furnish for my children to stay.  My life felt pointless back then.  Now I'm looking forward to the future."

In an emergency, please call 999

If you don't feel good and you're unable to keep yourself safe,

please call 999 or go to A&E hospital immediatedly.
